Watermark use cases by profession

🏠 Real estate photographers

Add agency name or watermark to all listing photos before sharing with clients or publishing on portals. Tile mode at low opacity is standard practice for pre-approval proof images.

📷 Portrait and wedding photographers

Protect undelivered galleries with repeating watermarks. Once payment is received and files are delivered, the clean images are sent. Watermarked proofs can be shared freely for review.

👔 Brand and product designers

Add copyright notices to design mockups and brand assets before sharing for client approval. Text watermarks with your studio name at bottom-right are the professional standard.

🎓 Content creators

Mark social media images with your handle or website URL. Bottom-right placement at 30% opacity is the most common approach — visible but not distracting.

⚖ Legal professionals

Add "DRAFT", "CONFIDENTIAL", or "NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION" text to documents and images shared for review. Diagonal tile placement at 20% opacity is the legal industry standard.

🌐 E-commerce sellers

Watermark product photos with your brand name before posting to marketplaces to protect against image theft by competing sellers.

Frequently asked questions

Can the watermark be removed?
A well-applied watermark is difficult but not impossible to remove with advanced editing tools like Photoshop Content-Aware Fill. For maximum protection, use tile mode at 30–50% opacity covering the full image — this makes clean removal impractical.
What is the best opacity for a professional watermark?
30–40% is the professional standard for copyright attribution — visible enough to deter misuse but not obstructing the image content. For proof images, 40–60% tile mode is common practice.
Can I add my logo as a watermark?
Currently text watermarks only. Image/logo watermark support is planned for V2.
Does the watermark affect the image permanently?
Yes — the watermark is rendered into the image pixels. The original file on your device is unchanged. Only the downloaded watermarked version contains the watermark.
